After receiving contact on its hindquarter, became unbalanced and then when ridden along failed to muster speed. After endeavouring to hold its position with cover, approaching the 600m became unbalanced and was forced wider after receiving contact. RAND 23/12/2023 Chestime Rider reported that after his mount began well, the mare travelled well throughout the early and middle stages. He added however, the mare was unsuited racing inside runners. He further added that his mount laid out for the majority of the event and was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to finish its race off. He stated that in his opinion the mare would be better suited not racing in restricted room. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Rider explained he was initially placed in restricted room between runners and again a short distance later. 18 EMERGENCy PRoCEdUREs The Australian Turf Club’s aim is to provide the best facilities to ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment. The Club has developed comprehensive procedures to deal with any unexpected emergency situation that may arise. Our staff are trained and experienced in dealing with emergencies and evacuations. They are dressed in ATC uniforms at various points throughout the racecourse. Assisting in an emergency will also be security staff and Police officers. Should an emergency situation arise, the alarm system will be heard over two stages: (1) Fire Alarm Bell – (ringing SOUND). This notifies the Fire Brigade; (2) Evacuation Alarm – (WHoop – WHoop – WHoop SOUND). This notifies ALL occupants to leave via the nearest safety exit under the supervision of the Emergency Wardens and proceed to the emergency assembly point. On hearing the alert alarm, patrons are requested to remain calm and prepare to follow instructions from the Emergency Wardens. Cloak room items will be secured for you to collect after the situation is over. Mobility impaired patrons, including hearing and sight impaired patrons, should make contact with an Emergency Warden as they may need a “buddy” to assist in the evacuation in the evacuation. On hearing the evacuation alarm, the Wardens will usher you to the Safe Assembly Area so it is essential that you follow their instructions. 19 poLicy The Australian Turf Club is committed to Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) across all our venues and endeavours to comply at all times with all the requirements of the NSW Liquor Act 2007. The Club is an active member of a number of Local Liquor Accords including the Eastern Beaches Liquor Accord and also the Rosehill and Liverpool Liquor Accords. The Australian Turf Club has adopted the following House Policy, which provides a framework for the Responsible Service of Alcohol. ALcoHoL consumption Patrons who are intoxicated or approaching intoxication will be refused admission to our venues. Patrons who are observed drinking upon approach to one of our venues will be refused entry. Appropriate and compliant signage will be displayed at all entry points. Patrons on board “Party Buses’, Limousines or Hire Cars with alcohol present will have their intoxication levels assessed by Security and risk refusal of entry to the venue. Any patron refused service by bar staff or identified by Security as approaching intoxication will be asked to leave the venue immediately as per Section 77 of the NSW Liquor Act 2007 under Age drinking The Australian Turf Club recognises the following fonns of identification: • A driver’s or rider’s licence or permit (issued by an Australian State or Territory or any foreign country) • Australian passport or a foreign passport issued by another country, • NSW photo card (issued by Roads and Maritime Services NSW) • Proof of age card issued by a public authority of the Commonwealth or of another State or Territory for the purpose of attesting to a person’s identity and age • Keypass (over-18) identity card issued by Australia Post. Patrons who appear to be aged 25 years or under may be asked for identification at any time by Security, Police or an ATC staff member. If identification is unable to, or refused to be produced that patron will be asked to leave the venue. Any minor found in close proximity to or using alcohol or gaming outlets will be asked to leave the venue. The person identified as being responsible for the minor (as per the NSW Liquor Act 2007 in relation to Responsible Adults) will also be asked to leave the venue.
