Canterbury Park is the only venue for night racing in Sydney plus hosts over 20 daytime meetings throughout the year. Canterbury Park also boasts one of the best racing surfaces in Australia. To ensure our patrons have a comfortable and enjoyable day here at Canterbury Park, Australian Turf Club provides the following services and facilities: GUEST RELATIONS For any information or enquiries, please visit our Administration Office to the left of the King Street entrance. LOST PROPERTY All lost property is retained at the Administration Office ATM MACHINES Ground Level of the Public Area has an ATM machine for cash withdrawals. An additional ATM is located in the Members’ Reserve adjacent to the escalators. CLOAK ROOM A Cloak Room is located on the ground floor of the Members Reserve and remains open for 30 minutes after the last Sydney race. fIRST AID Located at the rear of the Administration Building at the Western end of the Grandstand. DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS Patrons can only smoke at the ‘designated smoking area’ shown on the below map. Also, for the comfort of guests, we ask that patrons please do not move tables from their designated locations within the bar and dining areas. If we can help you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact any member of our friendly staff. Rounding the home turn had to be shifted out after becoming awkwardly placed close to heels. K GR 07/11/2023 I Am Famous On jumping shifted out and bumped. At the 1100m bumped and became unbalanced. Rdr reported the filly raced too keenly through the early and middle stages and, as a consequence, was left without a finishing effort. A post-race vet exam, including an endoscopic exam of the upper respiratory tract, revealed a degree of internal exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage that may have affected the horse’s racing performance. Over the concluding stages was unable to be fully tested when improving to be close to heels. RHIL 15/11/2023 Race 3 THE AGENCY REAL ESTATE PLATE 1250M Botanica Began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with another rnr. Rounding the home turn was bumped. Rdr reported the gelding raced keenly throughout the middle stages and when bumped approaching the 300m it lost momentum and was then one paced and did not finish the race off from that point.KENS 15/02/2023 Crusader Razor COT: To be ridden conservatively; settled off pace. Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages when being steadied in an endeavour to obtain cover and then was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. RHIL 15/11/2023 Osman Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry into the tactics adopted on the gelding, particularly regarding the tempo set during the early and middle stages of the event. Rdr was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of the gelding. She said that after settling at the rear of the field she anticipated that her mnt would close off well, however, the gelding gave no response to her riding in the straight and was relatively one paced. A post-race vet exam did not reveal any abs. RAND 07/11/2023 Cheerful Legend Slow to begin. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running from the 300m until after passing the 200m when being shifted to the outside of runners to continue into clear running. KENS 04/10/2023 Contributingfactor On jumping bumped with another rnr from a wide barrier, then was shifted behind rnrs in early stages. A post-race vet exam rev the gelding to be lame (3/5) in the off foreleg. Tnr was advised a vet clearance will be required prior to the gelding being permitted to race or barrier trial again. K GR 18/03/2023 Per Inaway (NZ) Stewards permitted rider to ride the mare 0.5kg over its allotted weight. Approaching 800m had to be eased when crowded. GOSF 16/03/2023 Dynamic Spirit (BRZ) Nearing 700m proved difficult to settle & improved quickly to race close to heels & as a result was checked, shifted out & bumped. Passing 200m was steadied. When qst, rdr std instructed not to pressure mnt in early stages but to find cover to help it settle. Std after being steadied on jumping & obtaining a position midfield, his mnt again travelled keenly in mid stages. Std after shifting inwards in early part of straight, mnt lost momentum when steadied near 200m, & whilst not travelling well enough to place, he thought it would have finished closer. A post-race vet exam revealed no abs. HVLY 18/01/2023 Rebel Shadow On jumping shifted in and bumped. After passing the 200m shifted out abruptly off heels. RHIL 04/11/2023 Anythink Goes Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 900m was steadied from heels. W FM 31/05/2023 Byron Just prior to the finishing line had to be steadied when crowded for room. RHIL 11/11/2023 Obvious Step Slow to begin and then shortly after was crowded. NCLE 14/10/2023
14 Stewards Report Prince Aurelius Rider stated that the gelding came under heavy pressure prior to straightening and then was disappointing in the manner in which it weakened in the straight. Said in his view failed to run out the 2000m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a laceration to the near-hind fetlock. Trainer advised that a veterinary clearance will be required before permitted to race/barrier trial again. Vet clearance received and passed trial. RAND 24/12/2022 Lemaire Slow to begin. Between the 400m and 300m was held up and unable to improve when being shifted to the outside of runners to secure clear running. RHIL 01/07/2023 Race 8 THE AGENCY PROPERTY MANAGEMENT HANDICAP 1100M Valiancy COT: To be ridden more conservatively from the outside barrier; settled back. From the outside barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Rdr reported when under pressure in the straight his mnt did not feel comfortable in its action. A post-race vet exam revealed no abnormalities. KENS 01/11/2023 Eye Pea Oh (NZ) COT: To settle further forward; settled midfield. After beginning only fairly made heavy contact. Near the 900m commenced to race keenly, got its head up and then shifted out abruptly. Lost its off-fore plate during running. RAND 28/10/2023 Abuela Laid in over the concluding stages, requiring its rider to stop riding and straighten. HAWK 22/04/2023 Gilmore Slow to begin and shortly after was bumped heavily and became unbalanced. Leaving the 400m was taken in and had to be checked when awkwardly placed on heels. In this incident it clipped heels and blundered. KENS 01/11/2023 Terra Mater Bumped on jumping. When questioned re settling further back, rdr stated when he rode the filly at its last start, it was not his intention to settle as far forward on that occasion, and his instructions today were to obtain a midfield position which is consistent with the filly’s racing pattern prior to its last start. He further said after obtaining a midfield position, he was unable to obtain cover and raced wide throughout. Tnr confirmed the instructions and added it was not the intention to settle as far forward at its last start.W FM 28/06/2023 Tsarina Sophia Shortly after the start was bumped. 18 EMERGENCY pROCEDURES The safety and comfort of patrons at Australian Turf Club venues is of paramount importance. The Club has developed comprehensive procedures to deal with any unexpected emergency situation that may arise. Our staff are trained in dealing with emergencies and evacuations. Should an emergency situation arise, the alarm system will be heard over three stages: (1) Fire Alarm Bell – (RINGING SOUND). This notifies the Fire Brigade; (2) Alert Alarm – (WHOOP – WHOOP – WHOOP SOUND). This will be heard on each floor to notify Emergency Wardens to stand by and prepare for possible evacuation. (3) Evacuation Alarm – (WHOOP – WHOOP – WHOOP SOUND). This notifies ALL occupants to leave via the nearest safety exit under the supervision of the Emergency Wardens. On hearing the alert alarm, patrons are requested to remain calm and prepare to follow instructions from the Emergency Wardens. Cloak room items will be secured for you to collect after the situation is over. Mobility impaired patrons, including hearing and sight impaired patrons, should make contact with an Emergency Warden as they may need a “buddy” to assist in the evacuation in the evacuation. On hearing the evacuation alarm, the Wardens will usher you to the Safe Assembly Area so it is essential that you follow their instructions. Unless you are instructed otherwise, the Safey Assembly Area are: In the event of an emergency, please remember: (1) Listen carefully to the alarm tones; (2) Follow the directions of the Emergency Wardens; (3) Move quickly and quietly to the designated Safe Assembly Areas. EMERGENCY ASSEMbLY AREA A: The area behind the Main Grandstand bounded by the Administration Offices, the Main Grandstand and the Main Entrance Turnstile Building; and EMERGENCY ASSEMbLY AREA b: The grassed area in front of the Main Grandstand.

The Australian Turf Club has adopted the following House Policy, which provides a framework for the Responsible Service of Alcohol. ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION Patrons who are intoxicated or approaching intoxication will be refused admission to our venues. Patrons who are observed drinking upon approach to one of our venues will be refused entry. Appropriate and compliant signage will be displayed at all entry points. Patrons on board “Party Buses’, Limousines or Hire Cars with alcohol present will have their intoxication levels assessed by Security and risk refusal of entry to the venue. Any patron refused service by bar staff or identified by Security as approaching intoxication will be asked to leave the venue immediately as per Section 77 of the NSW Liquor Act 2007 UNDER AGE DRINKING The Australian Turf Club recognises the following fonns of identification: • A driver’s or rider’s licence or permit (issued by an Australian State or Territory or any foreign country) • Australian passport or a foreign passport issued by another country, • NSW photo card (issued by Roads and Maritime Services NSW) • Proof of age card issued by a public authority of the Commonwealth or of another State or Territory for the purpose of attesting to a person’s identity and age • Keypass (over-18) identity card issued by Australia Post. Patrons who appear to be aged 25 years or under may be asked for identification at any time by Security, Police or an ATC staff member. If identification is unable to, or refused to be produced that patron will be asked to leave the venue. Any minor found in close proximity to or using alcohol or gaming outlets will be asked to leave the venue. The person identified as being responsible for the minor (as per the NSW Liquor Act 2007 in relation to Responsible Adults) will also be asked to leave the venue. ANTI-SOCIAL bEHAVIOUR Any patron found to be disrupting the quiet enjoyment of other patrons around them by means of their actions or behaviour will be asked to leave the venue. TRAINING AND PROMOTIONS All staff have been informed about their obligations in relation to this policy on Responsible Service of Alcohol and have been adequately trained to support this policy. 20 (1) At a race meeting within the metropolitan area, a bookmaker is obliged to lay the odds displayed if demanded by the backer, except that the bookmaker is not compelled to lose on any one bet more than the amount Racing NSW may determine and publish as the minimum bet list entttled “Betting limits for on-course Bookmakers to comply with BR13”, as published on tts webstte and amended from time to time. (2) When the backer claims the bookmaker for a win and place bet which is greater than the limits prescribed by this rule, the bookmaker must bet the backer the proportional equivalent of an each-way wager. (3) At a race meeting outside the metropolitan area or at an audttorium or betting office, the committee of a club may from time to time determine the minimum wager which bookmakers must be bound to lay when betting on any part of the club’s premises. (4) Once a race has started, a bookmaker is not compelled to accept any bet or, alternatively, is not compelled to bet the minimum limits prescribed in this rule. (2) While betting is taking place on the grounds of a racecourse, have turned on or use in any way at any of the following places on the racecourse any portable telephone, radio transmitter , radio transceiver or any other appliance, apparatus, instrument or equipment that is capable of transmitting information: (a) in the mounting enclosure (b) in the scales area (c) in any other area designated by the Stewards Notwithstanding the provisions of this sub- rule an owner present in the mounting yard immediately after the running of a race is permitted to use a mobile phone. (3) Within the area of the jockey’s room, bring into, have in their possession, or use any portable telephone, radio transmitter, radio transceiver or any other appliance, apparatus, instrument or equipment that is capable of transmitting information. 21 Children are welcome at all race meetings held at Royal Randwick, Rosehill Gardens, Canterbury Park and Warwick Farm. On many weekend race meetings there is free children’s entertainment available. Children in the general admission area should be under the company of a responsible adult at all times. Children entering the Members’ Enclosure must be in the company of a responsible adult at all times and must be suitably attired. There are no restricted areas within the racecourse (except for ‘Members’ Only Areas’) however patrons under the age of 18 years of age (minors) are not permitted entry to the racecourse unless accompanied by their Legal Guardian or Loco Parentis. (Responsible adult). This can be in the form of: • A parent, step-parent or guardian of the minor • A person who is, for time being, in loco parentis to the minor. This person must be 25 years of age or older and be able to verify to the satisfaction of the ATC their relationship to the minor Definition of In Loco Parentis. The term “Loco Parentis” describes a relationship similar to that of a parent to a child; specifically it refers to an individual who assumes parental status and responsibilities for another individual, usually a young person, without formally adopting that person. Any minor found in close proximity to or using alcohol or gaming outlets will be asked to leave the venue. The person identified as being responsible for the minor (as per the NSW Liquor Act 2007 in relation to Responsible Adults) will also be asked to leave the venue. Prosecution by the NSW Police is also an option. LIQUOR LICENSING REGULATIONS SMILE - YOU’RE ON CCTV Members and their guests must observe the Liquor Licensing Regulations in place at the Australian Turf Club. The ATC follows guidelines for the Responsible Service of Alcohol. Staff members are instructed not to serve any alcoholic beverages to guests under the age of 18 years, or to guests in a state of intoxication. In addition to any action taken by the NSW Police, disciplinary action will be taken by the Board against Members and/or their guests who are in breach of the Liquor Licensing Regulations applicable to the ATC. Members and their guests must observe the Liquor Licensing Regulations in place at the Australian Turf Club. The ATC follows guidelines for the Responsible Service of Alcohol. Staff members are instructed not to serve any alcoholic beverages to guests under the age of 18 years, or to guests in a state of intoxication.
